The film “Shall We Gather” is not the end goal - rather, it’s meant to be the start of a conversation. That conversation has begun between the two church communities in Valley Lee that are the subject of the film, and is growing into a welcoming community effort - also called “Shall We Gather” - that includes all people who seek to reach across the historic barriers of race and build a better future.
In coming months, the film “Shall We Gather” will be offered to school, civic, and other groups as a way to start their own conversations. And the congregational gatherings for Bethesda United Methodist Church and St. George’s Episcopal Church will continue.
